Air Quality legislation
LATEST UPDATE (September 2020)
In its European Green Deal Communication, the European Commission has committed to draw on the lessons learnt from the evaluation (Fitness Check) of the current air quality legislation. It will propose to revise air quality standards to align them more closely with the World Health Organization recommendations.
The fitness check discussion and results can be found here. The findings of the fitness check will inform further reflections on whether these directives are fit for purpose and continue to provide the appropriate legislative framework.
